You don’t need to know
every system.
You need to know
the right questions.

A building project brings together designers, installers, suppliers and specialists. MHE helps you make sense of their advice, understand the gaps and keep the technical work moving towards your requirements.

Start before you commit, bring support into a project already under way, or get help preparing for handover.

01 / HOW I HELP

The right support.
At the right point.

Choose a focused piece of advice or ongoing support. The scope, deliverables and fee are agreed before work begins.

01Before you commitPROJECT CONSULTATION

Talk through the property, your plans and what a successful outcome looks like. Understand the process, the decisions ahead and the input your project will need from you.

What you take away

A written summary of priorities, missing information and recommended next steps.

02A brief everyone can work toPROJECT READINESS

Turn your requirements into a practical starting point for designers and installers. Identify constraints, system interfaces and decisions before they become site problems.

What you take away

A readiness brief recording requirements, responsibilities, dependencies and the questions still to resolve.

03Understand what’s includedQUOTATION & PROPOSAL REVIEW

Compare proposals on the detail that matters. Look beyond the headline price to scope, assumptions, exclusions, responsibilities and what each specialist expects from others.

What you take away

A clear comparison and a focused list of technical questions to put to your proposed team.

04Keep the specialists alignedCLIENT REPRESENTATION

Have a technical representative working on your behalf within an agreed remit. Coordinate mechanical, electrical and specialist installers, lead technical meetings and follow actions through.

What you take away

Agreed meetings or site attendance, clear updates, an action record and visibility of decisions and proposed changes.

05Take over with understandingCOMMISSIONING & HANDOVER

Plan demonstrations and agreed functional checks. Review the information your installers provide, track outstanding work and understand how the completed systems should be operated.

What you take away

A review of handover readiness, the evidence received and the outstanding actions for the appointed team.

MHE provides advice, reviews and coordination. Installation is carried out by your appointed contractors. Any authority to direct work or approve changes is expressly agreed in the appointment.

SMALL QUESTIONS.
BIG DIFFERENCE.

Better to ask
before it’s installed.

01 — RESPONSIBILITY

“Who is making
the systems work
together?”

Understand where one specialist’s scope ends and another’s begins.

02 — EXPECTATIONS

“What decisions
will you need
from me?”

Know what to choose, who needs the answer and when it matters.

03 — COMPLETION

“How will we know
it works as
intended?”

Agree the checks, demonstrations and information needed at handover.

Mike Hayes EngTech MIET

Technical Adviser & Client Representative

My background brings together electrical delivery, connected building systems, technical coordination and commissioning. I understand how a requirement on paper becomes something people have to install, test, operate and maintain.

I work across the interfaces between electrical, mechanical, controls and specialist trades—making responsibilities clearer and following technical questions through to a practical outcome.

MHE’s focus is electrical and connected building systems. Where your project needs another discipline or specialist assessment, I help identify that requirement.

BEFORE WE START

A few useful answers.

Do I need a complete design before speaking to you?

No. An early consultation can help you understand what information is needed, which specialists to involve and what decisions to make before you commit.

Can you help if work has already started?

Yes. We can agree a focused review or an ongoing role based on the information available, the project stage and the support your team needs.

Will you take over from my architect or contractors?

MHE supports you alongside the appointed team. Responsibilities and any authority to issue instructions or approve changes are agreed in writing, so everyone understands the role.

How are fees agreed?

Fees are agreed for the defined scope before work begins. A one-off consultation or review can be a useful starting point; ongoing support is agreed around your project’s needs.
